Working out in some form on a regular basis will prove extremely beneficial for your physical health in the long run, not to mention also helping to alleviate some of the stress you may be experiencing in the short term – frankly, if you’re able to, you should be exercising more often.

Of course, finding the time and space to exercise while at home is far easier said than done. Nonetheless, with the gym being closed and people spending less time outdoors, there’s still a great amount you can do to maintain a healthy lifestyle and achieve your fitness goals and the secret lies in motivation.

So how do you stay motivated at home? We’ve created some bitesize tips for you, to help you get and stay motivated:

  • Set up a calendar/schedule with workouts for each day that you want to do – make yourself stick to that schedule, no excuses! You took the time to create the schedule…so go actually do it.
  • Create a dedicated space to workout. We do this when we need to work from home, so why not when we need to exercise? Also, if you live in an apartment or have limited, this space doesn’t mean you can’t do these workouts. Within every workout, they have modifications for these very things.
  • Block off time in your real life/work calendar. If you don’t block out time, you’ll never make time to work out. You’ll just end up doing the other thing.
  • Stop with your excuses. Anyone can do anything if they set their minds to it. I challenge you to give working out at home for a month. If you absolutely hate it or cannot do it, then stop. But it’s seriously one of the most invigorating things once you’ve got your mind set on it.
  • Make time. 30 minutes is 2% of your entire day. If you can watch Netflix for 30 minutes, you can workout for 30 minutes, simple as.
  • Do it with a group friends. Create a small group and make each other accountable. Share what workout you are doing that day or are going to be doing. Ask if everyone has done their workouts etc, just like we have done in our Facebook Support Group.

The bottom line is, the best way to kickstart your exercise motivation is to start! Find a workout that’s right for you, that you can truly enjoy and just get going. Sure, the sofa looks damn good when you come home after a long day (even if you’ve just been upstairs, or working from the kitchen table) but sinking into it will feel so much better after you’ve earned it.

If you are unsure where to start with your at-home fitness routine, we are here to help and would love the chance to help you get motivated.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
